Default Problem with Mac E-mail client

I have a new Cpanel user that can't get his Mac E-mail client to check mail. I'm not familiar at all with Mac anything.

When he's setting up his account, he used username@domain for his login and all I see on the server log is just the username part.

I had him try the username+domain but I saw the same results, and his account just error's out.

Is there a trick for the Mac E-mail client?

    Thanks,
    Chuck

Assume when you say username@domain that you are including the TLD designation like com, net, org? Not having a similar problem with any Mac clients. What email program?

Yeah, the whole username, in this case tom@mcgraphics.cc

I asked the customer, and he said the program is just E-mail, it doesn't have a name like Outlook or Outlook Express, it's just the E-mail client that comes with a Mac G5 or something.

I'll see if he can try to add a new account from scratch and see if that works differently.

The ".cc" might not be properly supported. Don't know for sure. Another option may be to try enclosing the user name/domain in quotes - just a long shot.

    Thanks for your help.

I spoke to the customer again and got him to re-enter all the information. It worked the second time.

These things are usually customer error... the trick is getting the truth out of them in the first place BTW... I've been using Apple's Mail.app (that's the name of the program) with cpanel accounts for years. There's no inherint problems with the app.
