I just setup a new server a couple weeks ago, and enabled named to run on it. I set itself up as a nameserver, but for some reason it does not respond to requests.

For example, when I run a dns report on a domain that is using that nameserver, it gives me this:

ERROR: Some of your nameservers listed at the parent nameservers did not respond. The ones that did not respond are:

MyIPaddr


Note: If you are running a Watchguard Firebox with DNS Proxy enabled, there may be a bug causing port numbers get mixed up -- if this is the case, you can contact Watchguard to see if they have a fix.
I've checked that named is running, the zone file is there, and the entry in the named.conf file is there. I can ping the site fine from the server, but it just doesn't want to respond with the dnsreport.

I have 15 nameservers, and have never had a problem like this. I don't have a Watchguard box setup, so I'm just not sure what else to check?

Anyone have any ideas on what things I should check next?
