    Default problem with password

I installed oscommerce on my domain. And i created a database for oscommerce. I set the password of database is "password". But when i edit oscommerce/config.php. It is like this:define('DB_SERVER_PASSWORD', 'eKCiH8[kLsf4');. Is password encoded by cpanel or oscommerce. Can i change it to define('DB_SERVER_PASSWORD', 'password')?
    Many thanks in advance.

Please don't cross-post. Also such questions should really be directed at your web hosting provider.
