Problems moving server to server, keep IP

Hello

We have one server that we use for web hosting. We recetnly had a security breach in our server, and we want to move all our data to a temporary server so that we can re-install the operating system to fix any potential holes.

The server is currently at a an ip address that ends in .172. We set up a temporary server with the temporary WHM at .174. We want to set the .174 temp server to be the main server at .172. When we do the IP switch however, there is an error:

Unable to retrieve file [a fatal error or timeout occurred while processing this directive]

Can someone let us know how we can safely move WHM and all our accounts to the new server, while maintaining the IP address?
