Default pure-tfpd + proftd/passwd.vhosts: changes getting undone after a while

a client needed a ftp account for putting data on the server
adding an extra ftp account in cpanel name@domain.tld and name+domain.tld (for IE) works fine. But the client who need to put data on there server coud not use such username in there script / program (somehow).

So i edited /etc/proftpd/passwd.vhost and changed name@domain.tld to namedomain. Then it works fine for the client.

Problem is that cPanel somehow replace this username, namedomain, back to name@domain.tld after a while.

How can i prevent this from happening?

That is an improper name for Cpanel and it will continually change it back. If they have any coding skills they can use the ftp username in the form of name@domain.com.

point is, its some dirty weather script that gets uploaded in a txt format in a map on the server.

the program who upload the weather script does not like @ or + somehow

and the ones who provide the weather script are to dumb to fix it.
