cPanel/WHM will only work with Exim at this time. Qmail is not supported.

Reminder: no server software such as Apache and Exim should be installed on the server prior to installing cPanel/WHM.

Working in a data center that is primarily Plesk based which uses QMail I've earned the right to say "Why in the hell would you want to run QMail?"

QMail is just awful in my opinion and I'd much rather be tracking down SMTP issues within Exim, but to each his own I suppose.

    jrehmer,

You aren't alone. Qmail is the product of one guy's bloated ego. And it's been a total piece of sh*t for years! I wouldn't wish it on anyone rofl.

If you look at the history of qmail, you'll get a better understanding of why it was written, and the absolutely massive contribution it has made to the Internet over the years. It wasn't developed out of ego, but out of necessity for a secure MTA.

Closing thread before it becomes an unnecessary holy war.
