    Default Question...

What is this? (from WHM - Show Current CPU Usage)

Pid Owner Priority Cpu % Mem % Command
    5526 nobody 0 51.1 5.3 /usr/local/apache/bin/httpd-DSSL

    ALWAYS running...!!!

    Is it safe to kill?
    How to kill it?
How to keep if from coming back?

All of that assuming that it is safe to kill...

    Thanks!

That is your Apache server, kill it if you dont want people to access your web server.

It really gets on my nerves the amount of "hosting companies" out there today who dont have a basic understanding of the OS they host yet they are quite happy to take peoples money and rely soley on the <insert control panel here> to do all t heir work for them.

I was more concerned with this DSSL

Never has been a major issue until the past couple of weeks. If it was just httpd, not a problem. But just wondering why it is "DSSL" and what that was.

Maybe I should use WHM more often to watch process according to you.... but I will continue to watch in SSH.
