Question about CPanel on FreeBSD

Hello, I was searching the forums but maybe I was blind...

Anyway, my questions:

Does CPanel install its services from /usr/ports? (Ex. /usr/ports/www/apache22 or /usr/ports/mail/exim and so on)

Also, what does CPanel do to a FreeBSD system? How easy is it to uninstall... When it patches packages on the system, does it use ports (If it doesn't install stuff from ports)

Thanks! I considering getting CPanel for my FreeBSD server... But I want to make sure I'm not looking for trouble by doing that!

cPanel/WHM does make use of your distribution's updating mechanism to download some updates (in the case of FreeBSD, it would use ports). However, it is best to let cPanel/WHM handle these things itself rather than manually installing these services yourself. Having these services installed beforehand will conflict with the installation process.

Like any distribution, cPanel/WHM will install all the services it needs (BIND, Exim etc.).

The most effective way to uninstall cPanel/WHM is to re-install FreeBSD.
