They'd have to add it as an addon domain. However, you may have to manually add the A record to the zone file of the parent domain manually, YMMV.

Is is possible that I can do something with a top level domain so that all of my users/customers can add a subdomain to it? For example I have domain.com and I want my users to be able to add xxx.domain.com or whatever.domian.com into their "subdomain" in cpanel even though domain.com isnt in ther add-on domain?
