Default re-exec of exim (/usr/sbin/exim) with -Mc failed: Permission denied

I'm seeing some (I presume permission issues) with exim and mailman

    I am getting

    2004-03-12 17:54:28 1B1yM8-0007Up-DP re-exec of exim (/usr/sbin/exim) with -Mc failed: Permission denied
    2004-03-12 17:54:47 H=(customers.expedia.com) [216.251.115.222] sender verify defer for <caenmail@customers.expedia.com>: require_files: error for /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/lists/caenmail_customers.expedia.com/config.pck: Permission denied

    /scripts/installmailman hasn't helped

    Any ideas?

    Hi Rus,

This could happen when you tried to start it as regular user into the system. You don't have permission to start the exim daemon as a normal user. If this is the case, then sudo to root user and start it. Also you can check if the exim binary have suid bit set. If not, then it should have it and this is why it fail to start.

    Regards,

    Bright
