You may want to change over to suPHP or another PHP handler if this is a major issue where nobody owned files under DSO is causing space constraints. Under suPHP, these same files will be owned by the user instead and counted toward that user's quota.
You can change the PHP handler in WHM > Apache Configuration > PHP and SuExec Configuration area. You can review this thread in regards to how to migrate to suPHP properly from DSO:

One point that was not noted in the post would be to tail the Apache error log after converting to see if any sites are showing errors, which can be done by running this command:
