    Default Read Only FTP Access

    The question is:
If I create an FTP account via cPanel to access only /home/user/www/smth
e.g. folder smth, is it technically possible to give a definite FTP account only "read only" access without an opportunity to delete or upload any files?
If yes could anyone tell me a way this can be done?
Maybe via .htaccess or something else?
Of course all other accounts should have write/delete/upload permissions, only definite single accounts I select must have read only access to the specified directory
    Thanks

Have you tried adding the 'i' attribute to smith folder and all the files in it..

    Code:
     ]#chattr +i -R /home/user/www/smth
