Default Receive copies of all email sent from a specific account?

Does anyone know if there is a way that the admin of a cPanel account can receive copies of all email sent and received for a specific email address/account of that same cPanel account?

    Yeah, funny question I know.

Yes..you will be able to see all the emails of all the email accounts for a domain by login to the default email account of cPanel. Email account name should be same as your cPanel user name.

Errrrrrrrm, no, that's not how the default address works. The default address only functions that way if you have created no POP accounts, and are having all of the emails delivered into the default account instead. This means there are no other email accounts on the domain. The OP seems to need a way to see emails in all of the free-standing (POP) email accounts on his/her domain.

Now, you can set up Forwarders to achieve this, but Forwarders are visible via the webmail login screen (if any of your email people use webmail) as well as to anybody who has cPanel access to the hosting account. Forwarders also only work on incoming mail, they don't work on outgoing mail.

The invisible way to do this, for incoming and outgoing, is using Mailscanner's archive feature. You set up rules and Mailscanner will deliver a copy of each matching email into the destination account you choose. You'll need to set up the archive rules by command line, but it's not very hard to figure out.

This thread explains a bit more.

Personally, I use ConfigServer's installed Mailscanner package. Not only is all the installation headache taken care of for me, but it comes with a lot more features and functionality that clients really appreciate.

Thanks Bailey. Yes, I knew the post about checking the default email was wrong. But I was not sure that MailScanner had a feature that would be useful here. So thanks very much for this.

Alternatively, one could enable the following Tweak Setting:

    Code:
Allow mail account authentication using the password of the domain owner's account
This will allow the cPanel user to login to any webmail account residing under their cPanel account.
