Question recompiling mySQL with SSL support

    hello all

I was wondering if anybody can point me to the right direction.
On how to recompile mySQL 5 with SSL support.

Cpanel 11 has compiled it without it using easy Apache. running PHP 5.X & Mysql 5.X
A running Cpanel 11 on Red Hat 4 enterprise.

I need because I am trying to connect to the database server over a PHP script without as SSH because the shared server does not have a shell account.
So would like to use the SSL connection to encrypt the queries.

    TIA

Ok is possible to recompile Mysql 5.0.51a-community with OpenSSL by hand without killing anything in Cpanel?

And in so where in a redhat system would I find the source files used by Cpanel for mysql?

hmm, I don't think cpanel supports connect mysql via ssl... you may beed setup a separate mysql server which supports ssl connection

If you desire to go this route, you should disable MySQL update support in WHM ( Server Configuration >> Update Config ). That will prevent your custom MySQL install from being reverted to the non-SSL version.
