Related Questions to Dedicated IP

Hi ,
I have migrated all my data from DirectAdmin. But those all users got and different IP then the server were they were migrated so how to change that and Question number 2. I have bymistakely added the IP of the same server to an User now how to remove. it got attached like a dedicated IP and no other user can use it. please help

In "Basic cPanel & WHM Setup", set the value of "The IP address (only one address) that will be used for setting up shared IP virtual hosts" to the ip you want to share sites. Then after creating the sites, change that ip back to the shared ip of the server and sae changes.

Change ip of single site:
http://YOUR-IP-HERE:2086/scripts2/changeip_account
or
https://YOUR-IP-HERE:2087/scripts2/changeip_account


Change ip of multiple sites:
http://YOUR-IP-HERE:2086/scripts2/multichangeip
or
https://YOUR-IP-HERE:2087/scripts2/multichangeip

I did that but a new problem have arise'd,
That When ever a person visits the domain hosted their he views the default Cpanel page even if he has the index.php in his File Directory ,

2. When ever i try to visit anyones site using IP/~username it gives 404 error

1) After changing the IP address of an account, it can sometimes take several minutes before the DNS cache is updated on your computer. During this time, the default cPanel page will be visible because your computer is attempting to access the domain name on the previous IP address. You can use the following document for information on how to flush the DNS cache on your computer:

2) If mod_userdir protection is enabled, you will not be able to use Apache's mod_userdir to access your website. Please check to see if it is enabled via:

"WHM Main >> Security Center >> Apache mod_userdir Tweak"

If it is enabled, you will need to disable it or exclude protection for the "DefaultHost" in order to access the website via the primary IP address of the server.

Yes, it's true that cPanel strongly recommends disabling this feature for most of your users.

This is because accessing the site via mod_userdir circumvents the proper bandwidth accounting systems. In effect, a user could have visitors access his site via mod_userdir while counting the traffic against another user's bandwidth.
