    Default Remote e-mail server

Please vote for bug 3801 if you would like remote e-mail server capabilities just like the mysql and dns we have now.

Exim is a major load for our servers and if we could auto use a remote e-mail server and manage it through whm/cpanel it would be a lot nicer

I am not for sure how hard it would be to do for e-mail but its already done for DNS and mysql. This would make a nice addition to a already great product and give cpanel enterprise level performance

I would suspect that cPanel would like a more detailed explaination of what you want to see. If it's a matter of offloading email scanning (for viruses and spam) then that's pretty simply to do with only a few minor changes. If it's to have email actually stored remotely for retrieval, then presumably you're looking for a way to have cPanel manage exim/imap/pop3 on a remote server including accounts and access. If you put together a more detailed plan on how you would see it working that would make it appealing to as wide an audience as possible, then they're more likely to start considering it.

    you explained it perfectly

I really didn't know how to explain it but yes this is what i meant

Have cPanel manage exim/imap/pop3 on a remote server including accounts and access
Basically the same function as the remote mysql and dns clustering do

I would like to have the option available to have cpanel/whm manage
imap,pop3,smtp on remote servers with account creation, deletion and access all
done on a remote server running a cut down version of cpanel that would be
e-mail only but managed through the cpanel located on the master server

Very similar to the dns only cpanel setup where the master server controls the
    dns only server

    hope this is explained better

It would certainly be cool to be able to have dns-only, mail-only, and mysql-only versions of cPanel so you could seperate your dns, mail, and mysql onto seperate boxes that your main cPanel (web) server would access. If you had multiple mail or sql servers added, perhaps you could select during account creation which server that would be hosted on rather than having all of these servers run off of 1 box.

i do hope if they add this function that they will set somekind of server id to all the mail and mysql entries where you could have 2 or 3 cpanel servers use 1 mysql server or 1 mail server without having to worry about duplicate names of any sort

Adding the functionality of something like Plesk Expand (but with MySQL) to cPanel would be amazing. I'd pay extra for it!

I'd love to see this feature as well, so I'm just adding myself to the post, if there are any updates, and to bump it

I agree on this. If cPanel wishes to expand it's market share and hosts want
more reliable services using their software. They need to give us more
redundancy. Having everything on 1 box is no good.

    This gets my vote
