Repeat MailMan moderation notices? How to kill these?

I've come across this a few times before, and have yet to find a solution. Here's what the hosted customer writes:

I'm getting daily emails telling me there's a message requiring moderation on my mailing list: blah@blah.com (I changed the name of the list for this post)

But when I log into the mailing list admin, there are no pending messages. I already deleted that one message when it first came in.

Any suggestions?

Was this user at one time moved from another server, and maybe still getting notifications from that server?
