Reserving main IP

Hi folks.
Initially I set up server with the main IP address assigned as the shared IP address.

I then added a batch of IP addresses.
My hope was to change the shared IP address to the second available IP address, then reserve the main IP address so it could not be used (by anything other than as nameserver).

While I changed the shared IP in the "Edit Setup" just fine, no matter what I do I can't seem to get the main shared IP address to appear in the "IP Functions" -> "Show/Edit Reserved IPs" list (so I can reserve it).

Ideas?

The main (or first listed) IP address is not usable -- which explains why it is not editable -- as it refers to the Server Hostname. Although the Hostname can be change, the main IP address must always point to it -- whatever it is.

Thanks, though not exactly my question.

My question was how does one remove the first IP address from the "pool" of usable IP addresses, if it was initially set as the shared IP.

This is my hope:

IP address #1
reserved and not usable by any accounts

IP address #2
used as shared IP


IP address #3 and so on.
available
