Resetting WHM Password

I've inherited webmaster tasks on a box running WHM and CPanel to manage websites, all of which are owned by one person. The problem is that nobody remembers the whm password or any of the passwords for the cpanel accounts.

I've reviewed the documentation but cannot find any way outside of using WHM itself (after logging on as whm) to reset the whm password. Can someone enlighten me as to where this password is kept and what I'd need to do to change it.

I have root access via ssh to this box and I've tried changing the system "cpanel" password as I had read on some forum that the whm password was tied to the cpanel system password. That did not seem to work, so either the info is incorrect, or I need to restart a process or something.

Your root username/password should be all you need to enter WHM.

ah... so the login to use is "root" and not "whm". That worked... thanks.
