    Default Restoring backup

I have a server with 8 hosting accounts. Using chkrootkit I found out it has been compromised. I will set up a new server (also using WHM) and my wish is to copy everything from my old server to the new server. On the old server everything has been backed up using the WHM backup function - each account in a separate .gz. The important system files are also backed up.

My question is how shall I best do to restore the backups from the old server on the new server? I have +80 domains and would like the system (DNS, Apache etc) to be restored also in addition to the account files.

My thinking was to transfer all the .gzs to the new server via ftp and then to restore the accounts on it but checking the restore function in whm I do not see a possiblity to specify where the backup files are residing?

I am not expert but I do many restoration ;-)
-------- IF YOU HAVE OLD SERVER DRIVE MOUNTED TO NEW SERVER ----------------------------
    login to server with SSH
    - create /backup folder on new drive
    - I thing you have second drive mounted to new server and go to old drive backup folder with command
    cd /olddrive/backup
    -use cp cpbackup /backup command.
go to WHM panel and go to Configure Backup options.
make backup status enable and save.
now go to restore backups from left menu (above backup)
    ---------------------------------------------------------------

-----------IF YOU HAVE 2 DIFFERENT SERVER-------------
go to WHM Transfers options on left menu.
click to Copy multiple accounts from another server
Server to copy from (ip or FQDN): Write in box YOUR OLD SERVER IP
Server root password: Write YOUR OLD SERVER ROOT PASSWORD
and click to Grab Account list
if you see all accounts you can start restore from remote server.
After dont forger BIND restart from Services.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe I can forget something so sorry I have only one server with many restore tickets lol.

Thanks for your help djalpha. I have 2 separate servers. I have tried what you suggested and it works fine, however some accounts fails to transfer/restore correctly. Maybe because they include many files or what ever.

Does anyone know if it is possible to first download all the back ups via ftp manually and then restore locally on the new server rather than "importing accounts" to the server?

Will the server recogize the imported files as a restorable backup?
