Default Retrieving old messages in cPanel! plz help very important messages lost!!

    Hi all ,

I used to send messages through Windows Live Mail and lately I had to format my hard drive forgetting to backup all my messages sent and received through the Windows Mail software and when I log in to Horde or SquirrelMail I can't find any of my messages! They are all lost!

Is there a way to retrieve them? I need these messages as they contain very important data and information like passwords , serial numbers and security codes.

    Can you please help me?

Is there a software that can help me retrieve them all! Should I backup? What to do? please please help!

Since you cannot view your mail in the webmail interfaces, it sounds like you were using POP3 (which retrieves messages from a server and deletes them from the server) rather than IMAP (which leaves messages on the server until you delete them in your mail client).

As it appears the only place these messages would have been stored is your workstation, your workstation should be the focus of your data recovery efforts.

You may want to contact your hosting provider to see if their backups just happen to have some mail that was sent to your account. Their backups would only contain items the server could backup before your mail client deleted the mail from the server. You may be lucky and get a few messages, but it probably wont be much.
