Reverse records for domain (DNS&PTR)

Hi,

For some reasons I cannot park domains on my nameservers. A and 2xNS records has been created and IP assigned. When trying to park domain this error appear:

Host XXX.XXX.18.64.in-addr.arpa not found:

3(NXDOMAIN)

Host XX.XXX.18.64.in-addr.arpa not found:

3(NXDOMAIN)"

How I can correctly assign PTR record to my nameservers?

To assign the reverse DNS record you have to contact the owner of the IP subnetwork in which is your server.

Yes..please contact the server IP network owner to fix this.

I can third that. Reverse DNS has to be set up at the datacenter.

As a side note, you can find out exactly who is responsible for the for the IP address by using the whois command from the command line:

whois xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

you can also find out what nameservers are responsible for the IP by running:

dig -x xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx ns
