    Default Root Website...newbie

Its moderately embarrassing to have to ask this, but I've pored over endless docs trying to find the answer and have yet to be successful.

I have recently moved to a dedicated server due to website growth, and decided to use Cpanel/WHM to maintain as much commonality with the previous server as possible. I'm well versed in Cpanel, but this is my first experience with WHM. In order to set up a single website, do I need to create an account through Cpanel and use that, or is there a better way to manage the site with root access without creating a ficticious account?

The major difference is that I want the site to be accessible to http://ipxxx.xxx.xx.xx/ rather than http://ipxxx.xxx.xx.xx/~username/ yet still want to manage the site through Cpanel.

    Any thoughts?

You will need to create an account. root cannot own a website for security reasons.

Thank you very much! If nothing else, it provides confirmation and I can move on to other issues.
