    Default RoundCube?

So, it seems there was an update released last night on CURRENT which created a link on the webmail landing page for RoundCube. I thought RoundCube isn't due out yet.

The odd thing is, the RoundCube image/icon isn't loading, and if clicked on, it goes to:

http://domains.com:2095/index.php which of course is 404 Not Found.

    Any ideas?

I actually like updating and taking care of RoundCube myself. I would hate to have to wait to have RoundCube updated by cPanel, sorry. Will it be fine to keep it installed/updated manually?

Yea, I got the feeling it was being released soon. Why the update to the webmail landing page, without giving the option to disable in WHM? I'm getting alot of support requests because the RoundCube link suddently appeared, and doesn't work. **continues writing canned responses**

Same here, clients are creating trouble tickets asking why a new icon that isn't working. I wish it could be removed temporarily or turned off by us until working. Ugh.

This was due to a broken tag in the webmail theme. Latest builds resolve this issue.

Does resolved mean they removed the icon? That's what my customers are seeing today. Now they're adding to the trouble ticket "where did it go?"

Does this mean a new build will be out SOON (how soon) and it will all be working? Thanks.

By resolved, he means that if you disabled RoundCube then RoundCube will no longer be displayed. If you have RoundCube enabled (default), then the icon for it will be displayed if you are on a cPanel build that has native RoundCube support.

Next it will be "there is no option to import mail contacts", "none of my mail is here that was in my box in horde" "why is the spell checker not working as it should?" "all mail & contacts added go into one database?" "are there any other themes for it?" and so on. Get ready for these types of questions, they're next for you I'm sure.

I've got the answer to that last one, here's a nice theme that works pretty good.

Roundcube is nice, but it is not great, IMHO, not yet. We have enabled it here but are giving all users notice that it will not be replacing horde for sometime yet.

Personal Statement: I agree with the above. I've been running it on a personal server for ~one year and feel it's not worth the excitement.

On-topic: a template tag in the webmail interface was broken, resulting in a link for RoundCube being displayed, even if RoundCube was no even installed. This is the problem that is fixed, now in all branches.

I am looking at RoundCube as an option somewhere between SquirrelMail and Horde. Certainly it is nowhere near a replacement for Horde, it doesn't have nearly the functionality.

It is also highly annoying to have to manually type in all my contacts. (My opinion only) I can't believe that RoundCube doesn't have even simple .csv functionality ..........

SquirrelMail also runs much faster (logging into the account, page loads, and I like being able to check off multiple messages to mass-action) so personally, I'm sticking with SquirrelMail.

Of course everybody sees things a little differently so others will find RC the better choice, and that's cool.
