running (ajax + java) shoutbox or irc applet

hello,

in linux cpanel server, what is the requirements for running java applet or ajax component? joomla verion 1.0.15 is being used and our problem is:

we have a ajax shoutbox that are provided by:
http://risperdal.student.utwente.nl/...,13/Itemid,26/

and also java applet plugin that will pop up an irc chat applet on website.

i have install java tomcat on the server and nothing change, what exactly i need to run these 2 plugins?

Both AJAX and Java applets are client-side technologies. You would need to ensure you have Javascript in your web browser and have installed a Java VM on your client computer to run Java Applets.
