What is teh main difference between source instllation and binary installation?

Here's a stab ....

In essence, binaries are built for a specific platform/configuration and can "essentially/sorta" just be "dropped" in to your system.

Source is installed/built with options that allow you to control certain elements and paramaters of the install.
