In addition to this, is there any way to set all default mail boxes who don't forward to another e-mail address to :fail: ? So that settings that users made themself won't be lost?

    Thanks,
    Bart

it's actually more proper to set them to :blackhole:

setting them to fail a) increases traffic on the network because it sends a reply and b) notifies the sender that there is a real mailserver listening (spammers love that).

    just my $.02 - YMMV

Actually, :fail: is the best option, for more information, see the write up here:

You can also find TONS of stats to prove that :fail: is the better option...

Indeed. :blackhole: is terrible, :fail: is the only way you should go.

Just a note on the above script - I wrote that, it would be nice to keep the attribution when you repost a script written by someone else

    Ahh -

    # Your server does not send a bounce message (just the DENY command)
    # Your server does not send anything to the sender of the email (i.e. the address in the From: line)
I thought the opposite was true. (scurries off to change everyone to :fail: - yipes! )

    Thanks
