    hdparmify - Enable dma/irq/32bit hd access, which speeds up ide drives

    useful? no?

    anyone have any experience with this.. I run a 120gb 7200 rpm IDE drive

    Very useful - it can speed up disk access many fold. There used to be dangers enabling it with older IDE drives, but these days it's a must.

    I use DMA on all my hard drives - Servers, personal, whatever. A definite plus.
