    Default /scripts/pre* for tweak settings

Running MySQL 5.1 on the machine, which requires /etc/mysqldisable and /etc/mysqlupdisable to be in place, otherwise cPanel reverts MySQL to 4.x, causing significant problems, and resulting in MySQL needing to be rebuilt, so on and so forth.

Given that there's a /scripts/pre* for pretty much everything, is there anything that can be created to ensure that the two files mentioned above are always in place before Tweak Settings changes are processed?

    Just a thought.
(Yes, I know, create and chattr the files, but I want something that will check for them anyway, just in case.)

    Thanks.

I don't believe there are any hooks into the Tweak Settings page to run a check scripts before or after. As you say, you need to create and chattr those files before you first go into Tweak Settings and then mysqlup will simply exit without doing anything.
