    Default Secure backup

I need to upload to a remote server by FTP some files to be stored in that server (backup).

But, i need to have shure that the server owner can do NOTHING with the files, i mean he cant even open them.

Like in windows zip with password a file.

Can anyone tell me how can i do this on a linux box with cpanel/whm?

    Tks

    chown root filename
    chmod 000 filename

that should make it so the user can not access the file at all.

when you say 'server owner' who are you refering to? if it is the server admin, then you can encrypt the file somehow (dont ask me how because i have never had to do it).

the problem is, i am the root on my server... and i'm gonna upload the file to a server where i'm just a customer, and i dont want that the root of the server "untar" the file and see the contents.
