    Default Serious Problem -- This should never happen!!

    I just set up my server yesterday. This is the tail end of the output I got when creating a new using in WHM

    Added Entries to httpd.conf (noip)
    Added Named Entry
    Added Named File
    Bind reloading on dustin using rndc
    Restarting apache
    Ftp Password Files synced
    Vhost Passwords synced
    send to CONTACTEMAIL (3) [3]
    == WORKAROUND ENABLED ==
    Serious Problem -- This should never happen!!
    The hostname (dustin.battlix.com) is owned by the user dustin
    == WORKAROUND ENABLED ==
    wwwacct creation finished
    Reseller privs added!

    Account Creation Complete!!!

    So what's the deal?

    Hmm i think its were you have a user as the server name.. like you have a user dustin and the server name is dustin.. had this problem on one of my servers!

    Yeah, that's what I thought. Except that in WHM it automatically suggests the username to be the same as the domain. So why would they suggest it if it didn't work?

    Programs use algorithms - they don't think. cPanel removes some special characters off the domain name, cuts it to 8 chars long and proposes it as username for a particular account. It is not a result of thinking but rather of an algorithm. The results may be good or sometimes bad. The one who finally assigns the username is the one who hits the "create" button.

    Yes kosmo, you speaketh the truth.

    I deleted the account and recreated that user under a different subdomain. No error message this time.

    A suggestion to the algorithm maintainers: don't let accounts be created that will cause this problem.

    Hello,

    Check the file /var/cpanel/users/dustin

    remove any entry corresponding to your hostname and save the file .

    This worked for me
