Server crashes when trying to install cURL

Server crashes when trying to install cURL using /scripts/easyapache.

I am running Zend Optimizer v2.1.0, and PHP 4.3.1
Last week I installed mcrypt without a hitch.
Today when I tried to install cURL, the server crashed and
mcrypt was deleted.
Now when I tried to re-install mcrypt, the server crashed again.
Any ideas?

just a thought..... but did you use option 4 from /scripts/easyapache first? This will install mcrypt. Then once that is finished you can go to the advanced menu and install curl easily. You will have to reinstall zend though after you run easyapache.
Wasn't sure if this was what you were looking for.... but it never hurts to throw it out there.
