Server Stats Overload

I received this email today:

IMPORTANT: Do not ignore this email.
This is cPanel stats runner on delta.gicserver.net!
While processing the log files for user one--sou, the cpu has been
maxed out for more then a 6 hour period. The current load/uptime line on the server at the time of
this email is
2:05pm up 12:21, 0 users, load average: 1.78, 4.46, 7.97
You should check the server to see why the load is so high and take
steps to lower the load. If you want stats to continue to run even with a high load; Edit
/var/cpanel/cpanel.config and change extracpus to a number larger then 0 (run
/usr/local/cpanel/startup afterwards to pickup the changes).


I wanted to know. Is there a reason for this? The user gets a lot of hits but not nearly enough to knock down the server. Is there a better fix than just changing cpanel.config?

Can I just shrink that user's logs or something? Any help would be appreciated.

I get those all the time. It is usually concerning awstats and one particular account in my situation.
