    Default Server Stats Overload

    I received this email today:

IMPORTANT: Do not ignore this email.
This is cPanel stats runner on delta.gicserver.net!
While processing the log files for user one--sou, the cpu has been
maxed out for more then a 6 hour period. The current load/uptime line on the server at the time of
    this email is
    2:05pm up 12:21, 0 users, load average: 1.78, 4.46, 7.97
You should check the server to see why the load is so high and take
steps to lower the load. If you want stats to continue to run even with a high load; Edit
/var/cpanel/cpanel.config and change extracpus to a number larger then 0 (run
/usr/local/cpanel/startup afterwards to pickup the changes).

I wanted to know. Is there a reason for this? The user gets a lot of hits but not nearly enough to knock down the server. Is there a better fix than just changing cpanel.config?

Can I just shrink that user's logs or something? Any help would be appreciated.

I get those all the time. It is usually concerning awstats and one particular account in my situation.

    Hi, gic,

Over on the burst.net forum this same thread came up, and the HostUSA.Biz guy posted a response. I tested it and it looks like it works. Please see details in the thread link following --

Hope you find it useful. I did.
