Default Server trying to send mail to admin@domain

I keep getting mail delivery failed messages returned to the root inbox. It seems WHM/cPanel is attempting to notify some accounts that their inbox is full by using the email address: admin@domain.com. I checked the cpanel settings for domain.com, but there is no setting that i see that is specifying admin@ as the default address or the contact address, and it is failing because there is no admin@ email address.

You need to set a default address.

Setting a default address is not such a great idea as it opens you up to all sorts of spam problems.

You may want to update your contact information instead. In cPanel 11, go to the Preferences block and click "Update Contact Info." It is possible that admin@domain is listed as the contact hence the emails.

I have checked and the contact information for the domain has been left blank, and the default address is set to fail. It is not a required field when you create an account in WHM, so why should WHM assume that the contact address is admin@ if there is no address specified? Shouldn't it just not attempt to send an email? I do not want to force all of our customers to fill in the contact information. Should this be filed as a bug?

I'd recommend submitting it as a support ticket first, and if it is determined to be a bug then it will be appropriately handled as such.
