Setting Permissions through Cpanel File Manager?

I have a client that is trying to set permissions on files using the file manager and when they set the permissions nothing changes.
I have also tried and the permissions won’t change.
If I login using FTP and then CHMOD them they change with no problem.

Would appreciate any help with this.

I did search before posting but apparently search for the wrong thing.

I did however find the answer to our problem and yes you can set permissions in File Manager.
I found the answer from a previous post and it worked great.
