Default shorten lifespan of messages in exim que

How can you change the time messages are kept in que and tried to be delivered in exim?

I have messages in que for 70 hours so the sender still doesn't know his mail isn't delivered or that there is a problem.

I want it to be a lot shorter...

    Thank you,
    Domenico

    # This single retry rule applies to all domains and all errors. It specifies
    # retries every 15 minutes for 2 hours, then increasing retry intervals,
    # starting at 1 hour and increasing each time by a factor of 1.5, up to 16
    # hours, then retries every 8 hours until 4 days have passed since the first
    # failed delivery.

I'm going to find out what is the most ideal config. What do most of you use...?

we leave them set to defaults... your messages are in queue for that long either because you have so many emails in queue it hasnt gotten to it yet or becuase that mail server is down. if you have a bunch of emails in queue you may want to exit /etc/xinet.d/exim and change q1h to q30m or q1m if you want to go nutz...
