Question Skipping EXIM updates via Cpanel Update

I'm facing an issue. Im working with a compphp email service script - an email service provider (php) and they use exim to integrate their script in order to get thier program working. Now the issue we have is not of exim ...rather more of the cpanel update .

Whenever we run a cpanel update, the current exim config we do (we edit the exim config rules) gets overwritten by 1) default exim for that version of cpanel release 2)when cpanel updates for a new version exim gets over-written with a new version and thus we lose our custom configurations.

My question is - Can we have cpanel do updates WITHOUT upgrading exim. How can we make the cpanel update skip exim checks and exim updates totally. If we can have cpanel updates skip the exim updates it would leave our custom settings fine and would help keep the script working.

    Help really needed on this.

    Thanks,

This should have been covered plenty of times before, so perhaps you could try searching for the answers as they already exist.

The following thread may be of some use:

To stop exim automatically updating nightly:

    rm /var/cpanel/eximup

If you want to stop FTPd being updated:

    rm /var/cpanel/ftpup

    To stop MySQL being updated:

    rm /var/cpanel/mysqlup

upcp will, of course, simply recreate those files when it runs overnight

I don't have exim nor MySQL automatically updating every night. I'm on the latest 32bit Linux release....

    upcp doesn't recreate them...
