Slow response to POP requests

I have a few Virtual Servers with Verio and when you check your Email via pop, the login/check for mail/start downloading is very fast (If no mail it takes less than 3 seconds typically)

On the dedicated server that I have with Cpanel, this same process takes from 5 to 30 seconds...my clients have noticed it too and of course are complaining...so what else is new?

I am migrating all my accounts to the new dedicated server so they have seen it fast....

Any ideas why this is so?

Is it an Exim thing?

Is it possible this is a difference between Exim and SendMail?

I don't think it's got anything to do with Exim. Did you contact CPanel support?

What's in your resolv.conf? I've noticed that a lot of the places that setup dedicated servers with cpanel leave the default darkorb information in the resolv.conf file instead of changing it to that of the server information.

It had darkorb's info in it..

Changed it to my server, IP's and DNS IP's and we are running MUCH MUCH faster!
