    Default slowest installation in history

I started an installation yesterday. It's been 24 hours and it's still going!

    WTF

Does anyone know how i can speed this crap up, besides starting from scratch!

That's not slow. I once did a cPanel install on a FreeBSD machine that took 4 days.

Which Operating System are you using?

    CentOS 5.2

    I am here:

    Fetching http://httpupdate.cpanel.net/cpanels...r-core.css.bz2 (1)....@69.90.250.35......connected......receiving...

Do you know how much longer it will take? If it's still a long way to go, i'm canning this and installing InterWorx.

Does anyone know how i can refresh the list of mirrors for cpanel. I'm sure it's a slow mirror causing issues here.

Typically on CentOS, the install takes 1-2 hours. It is officially recommended after a failed/incomplete install to wipe the server, but sometimes others have luck by simply running the shell script again without wiping the system.

I admit, for CentOS, anything over a few hours is excessive if you are running modern hardware on a server in a data center.

maybe 69.90.250.35 was having a hard time with the whole build tree just cycled? you could try adding your favorate httpupdate mirrors in your hosts file. make sure you find some fast ones by testing first.
Just keeping my "eye" on things....
