SMTP Tweak not visible WHM

Hello all!

I enabled in Tweak Security -> SMTP Tweak a few weeks ago.
I now need to deactivate it again because of the use of firewall CSF, which is complaining about the active tweak.

Problem: the option SMTP Tweak is no longer visible in Tweak Security.

Anyone a suggestion on how to resolve this?

Hi,

I already solved the problem myself.
cPanel checks if in /var/cpanel the empty file smtpgidonlytweak is present.
To deactivate the SMTP Tweak, just remove this file and restart cPanel.

Although this solution, I still don't see the SMTP Tweak in WHM Tweak Security, so if someone knows how to solve this little problem....

Update: the SMTP Tweak link came back after a cPanel update!

I noticed it disappearing too - must of been a bug As you found out /var/cpanel/smtpgidonlytweak is the file csf checks for and that which controls the function within cPanel and deleting it effectively disables it.

Thanks Chirpy for this info, which means I am not alone!
It would indeed be nicer that the control should be managed in a conf/ini file or something like that.

Thanks also for your nice firewall!
I was using APF but had troubles with it in an VPS in OpenVZ.
Your firewall is the one I was looking for, especially easy pre-configured for cPanel.

I do have an additional question for CSF on the hardware node.
May I ask it you personal? Because it's not really a cPanel topic.
