Default Spam filter & Spam Assassin

I've enabled the spam filter to search for **SPAM** but it isn't working.

My guess is that the incoming emails goes thru the spam filter before going through Spam Assassin.

Can anyone suggest a work around? Emptying out the spam box every day is getting old.

We have the same problem with 1 server.

On another server it works fine.

What has cPanel told you the problem is?

I wish you good luck, and would be happy if you can post the solution here.

Yeah they said it was fixed a few updates ago. Let me know if you find differently. Thanks.

To work around the problem I enabled the Spam Mailbox, wrote a PERL script that checks the mailbox, counts the number of Spam Emails, counts the number of bytes of Spam and then empties the Spam Mailbox. For my own curiosity, the script also updates a little datafile and keeps track of the daily average count and bytes of spam deleted.

A Cron job runs the script once each day and e-mails me a brief summary.
