    Hi

How do you disable spam scanning for outgoing email only. I still want it to scan incoming email.

I have just checked on one of my cpanel and it seems it DOESNT scan outgoing email for spam.. hmm im very confused now.

Sorry for bringing this old issue back to top... I did not want to make new thread with the same subject.

My question is - what should I use to enable outgoing email scan? Currently we are using spamassassin + exim. We've got some server blacklisted in SORBS and can't find the spammer - that's why we would like to scan outgoing emails.

    Regards,
    Anton.

SORBS is a horrible RBL that requires you to pay to get delisted. They blacklist servers sometimes for fictitious and conflicting reasons, and the last I checked, they don't respond to email, and their web based help center thing doesn't work. They'll also blacklist a server for years without ever removing it. If you have a server listed on SORBS, but not on any of the more well known, responsibly run RBLs (such as those run by spamhaus and spamcop), I wouldn't worry about it. If it's affecting your ability to send email, you might want to approach the people blocking the email in an attempt to educate them on why SORBS is bad, and why the spamhaus and spamcop RBLs are far superior. Google for this:

    SORBS blackmail

and you'll see what I mean. If you do have an issue with spam, I'd have to recommend StevenC from rack911.com. He's very well known and highly skilled. Check WHT for some feedback on him and his company.

Disable or enable? I don't think it really scans anything going out of the server... That's why my original question was - how to enable and control it.
