Default need just a little clarification...

The fix is all great and all, but I'm still not clear if those that create new spamassassin filters in their cPanel accounts will get the new if/endif statement or if i will have to regularly fix them myself?

replace is a wonderful command, but i'm assuming that this is a spamassassin/exim issue and not one that cPanel itself can address? i just want to be sure that there isn't anything further i need or can do...

It's pretty obvious that the "fix" is suitable, and it will be included as the default in the next builds. In the meantime, we're providing a short script to be ran through the WHM to update all the vfilter files with the appropriate line.

Please use the following URL to update your vfilters:

    https://your.server.hostname:2087/sc...fix=vfilterfix

or for the less SSL inclined (shame on you):

    http://your.server.hostname:2086/scr...fix=vfilterfix

Once the default behavior has been updated in new builds, this script (at least a version of it) will be ran on your server during upcp, bringing all vfilters up to date. The autofixer script is safe to run multiple time, so if any new vfilters are added before a new build is out then you can update the vfilters by re-running the script.

    HTH.

This JUST started happening. I haven't a a clue why.

Your problem is that it is NOT marked as spam per this header:

    X-Spam-Status: No, score=1.7 required=5.0 tests=BODY_ENHANCEMENT2,

It is not "obviously a high score" in fact, it is the opposite. 1.7 is the score.

Which means the mail scored a 1.7 and it needs to be marked 5.0 or higher according to your configuration of spam assassin. Lower your 5.0 to something lower (I don't recommend that) or setup a filter for the email.

Is there a way to have EXIM/SpamAssassin delete ALL email passing through it that is marked as *****SPAM***** in the subject? This way if a client wants us to filter their email for spam we can turn on SpamAssassin and have it mark all spam as *****SPAM***** in the subject and all problems are solved. There has to be a way to accomplish this. Thanks in advance for the help!

Filters are built right into cPanel all you need to do is login and click on Filters to add them.

They all work at the server level because they run on the server. As well SpamAssassin works at the account level.

If you want to provent spam before SpamAssassin then consider using an RBL.
