Default SpamAssassin direct log in ?

    Hi,

I have several clients who use SpamAssassin. I'm new to SpamAssassin and they have asked if they can manage their own settings / whitelists etc rather than getting me to do it but I don't want them logging into Cpanel directly.

Is it possible for users to log into SpamAssassin (XXX/mail/spam/spam.html) without being able to 'reverse' back into Cpanel?

Is there any such thing as a SpamAssassin front-end?

    Thanks

    William

You could always set up their cPanel account with a package using the X3 theme that has a feature list with only SpamAssassin enabled. This would make any "reverse tracking" worthless as they wont have access to the other functionality.

    Thanks, David - sound great!

I have switched a test account to x3 but can't see how to change the feature list to remove/hide other stuff - can you advise?

Step 1, create a new feature list and assign it to a package. Slides 16 through 19 of the Customizing cPanel Slides from this past year's Training Seminar will help you with doing that.

Step 2, assign that package to the user by going to WHM -> Account Functions -> Upgrade/Downgrade an Account then selecting the account, click Modify then select the package you just created and click Upgrade/Downgrade.

    Excellent

One final question which is probably a bridge too far ..... is there anyway I can set up a separate login for this, so that they don't need to know or use the main account password?

    Thanks.

    William.

Not at this time, however here's a link to a feature request recommending this:

    http://bugzilla.cpanel.net/show_bug.cgi?id=2220

You may want to vote for this feature and add yourself as "CC" so you receive updates regarding its implementation.
