Squirellmail Problem

I have installed squirellmail inside my home directory since i dont want to use the one that came with cpanel for many reason. I have gone through this forum and i think installing a new copy is the best option that i have.


After i have install the squirellmail i get
"Error opening ../data/default_pref
Could not create initial preference file!
//.sqmaildata/ should be writable by user nobody
Please contact your system administrator and report this error."

This error although my data directory and the files inside it is chmod to 777 (for testing it i have chmod it to 777, i know its abad practice) but i still have got that error.

Secondly, for the login i have to type my domain name too, is there anyway to login just by "username" and not "username@domain.com" since i have installed this squirellmail to be used only for 1 domain.

Did you check the ownership of data dir....try changing group ownership to nobody.

the first got fixed. Actually i copied the config from another server and edited them it says include config_local.php and i thought php_local.conf will be black so i just left it like that, but in that same file there is a $data= line which gave the error that i got..

Any idea about my 2nd one.
