then it must be a permission error. On what file; is that affected; you need to dig the log files.

From what i read Squirrelmail uses /tmp as the attachment folder and it has already got the 777 permissions.

Can you give me some idea about the folder which squirrelmail uses for the attachment uploads.

I don't usually use squirrel mail.. but could look into this for your..

What is the size of the attachement you are trying to upload? If I know this i can try to (as well as others) reproduce the error on my server and see if it may be a problem ....

    Hi,

I have increased the limit of the file uploads in php.ini to 5 MB and the attachment i am trying to upload is 10 kb. Even if i try to upload an attachment of 1 kb in size it would give me the same error.

On the contrary file uploads are working on the server and when my users try horde they are able to attach the attachments without any problem. It only seems to appear with Squirrelmail.

this is the attachment directory for squirrelmail:

    drwx------ 2 apache apache 4096 Jun 7 05:12 /var/spool/squirrelmail/attach//

above is a copy from one of our client server. is it the same for you ?

I can't find var/spool/squirrelmail/attach/ in my CPANEL server...according to my understanding this directory generally exist when you do an install of Squirrelmail on a clean RH server...but with the Cpanel the squirrelmailmail comes shipped and works on a different directory.

I may be wrong coz I'm still learning...however the problem remains the same.

i think this is the folder you want to check the permisions on:

    /usr/local/cpanel/base/3rdparty/squirrelmail/data/

Wow..thats the directory which needed some tweak..I gave 777 permissions to this and it works. Last thing I'd like to know is if its safe to assign 777 permissions to this dir.

Thanks to all you guys..you all are amazing

I also had a user experiencing this problem today and it was resolved by changing the permissions on the directory mentioned above. Thanks for posting the solution!!
