SSL Certificate and cPanel / WHM

In WHM I have the option to Purchase & Install SSL Certificate and I am then shown a Trustwave SSL.

Although it seems to be a major company, I cannot find many user experiances here or on WHT.

I would like to install SSL for my server, so not only 1 domain or 1 service, but the whole server and every domain in WHM/cPanel.

1. Is this possible with WHM/cPanel?
2. What kind of certificate would I need?

You will have to buy a seperate SSL for every domain.

Hi Johnburk,

Its better you assign an IP for each domain and then buy SSL certificate for each domain rather than going for shared ssl certificate. When you buy a SSL Certificate make sure you enter the domain name with www in front. eg: www.test12345321.com. You can also prefer ssl cert without www in front of the domain.

Why can't we issue our own SSL certs?

You can use self signed certificates but when ever your customers access your domain for the first time they will get a warning that the certificate is from an untrusted authority.

If you do not mind your customers getting this warning and are willing to spend time in explaining them about the self signed certificate ofcourse you can go for self signed certificates.
