I knew the root cause was known. I didn't know the file was available for download. I still get these. Where can cpuwatch be downloaded from?

Put a copy in each of these directories:

    /usr/local/cpanel/src/wrap/

    /usr/local/cpanel/bin/

Do you have to restart anything or just copying the files will do?

Are you still using 5.3b117? We are and haven't had a problem since implementing the fix (with this issue - we ceratinly have other problems though that still haven't been fixed).

oh great.. now after upgrading to V6 73 Stable, I get double emails..
    CPUwatch is installed
    /var/cpanel/cpanel.config is configured to extracpu= 3
    /usr/local/cpanel/startup is executed
still get emails even though the load barely hits 1

Just another voice to add to the growing chorus ...

This CPUWATCH bogus warning issue is way past getting old ... it's a major pain in the you-know-what.

None of the suggestions posted here have any effect of this problem.

    WHM 6.0.0
    Cpanel 6.0.0-S97
    RedHat 7.3

... and multiple false warnings throughout the day.

I'm really pleased that cPanel is under active development and improvement ... just wish upgrades didn't break as many features as they fix, sigh.

    Default cpuwatchcheck cpu/Server overload

My TOP is running cool, under 0.50 ... yet I receive cpu/Server overload emergency emails about 6 times a day. Please advise how to correct this cpanel problem. We rely on emergency wireless pagers to maintain support and this is getting expensive.

I set /var/cpanel/cpanel.config extracpus to 2. ALL my cpu/Server overload emergency emails say 1.02 to 1.2 and we can't find a history of it ever running that high except during nightly backups.

    increase /var/cpanel/cpanel.config extracpus to 6
that was cpanel fix for us even though load was under 0.5
