Strange DNS Issues

Hey all,
Kinda got a problem here with Cpanel . Basically, when a user goes to a domain of there's, for example:

http://mail.xrshosting.com

For some odd and perculiar reason, it loads the domain:

http://www.xtrememods.com

This domain, Xtrememods.Com was consequently the first domain to be setup on my server, and whenever a user also goes to:

http://207.44.208.92

This also goes to that website. Is there anyway possible to stop this from doing this! My clients are not impressed and have had several complaints over this issue and I need to get it resolved.

That's not dns, that's your httpd.conf file. Edit /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf and add a virtualhost entry for your server. Otherwise the very first one listed will be the one that is the default page.

<VirtualHost server.ip.address>
BytesLog domlogs/server.domain.com-bytes_log
ServerName server.domain.com
DocumentRoot /usr/local/apache/htdocs
</VirtualHost>

I swapped around the first entires in my httpd.conf file last night, to go straight to the companies hosting site.
However, by adding that entry that you stated below

<VirtualHost server.ip.address>
BytesLog domlogs/server.domain.com-bytes_log
ServerName server.domain.com
DocumentRoot /usr/local/apache/htdocs
</VirtualHost>

If I replace server.domain.com with neo.xrshosting.com will that then just point to let's say, neo.xrshosting.com? (Which is one of the servers names).

However, this is still not a solution to the problem I have. Clients are wishing to add http://mail.domain.com to access their webmail using that link instead, is this still not possible? Even if I add the above to the httpd.conf file, it will still point to the server neo.xrshosting.com's home directory...

If you could just tell me how to allow users to access their webmail this way, then it would be greatly appreciated, still keeping the option to access webmail via: http://www.domain.com/webmail

In cPanel, try creating a subdomain

mail.domain.com

Then redirect that subdomain to

http://domain.com/webmail

Exactly. The first virtualhost entry will be the site that the main IP points to.

As far as your subdomain issue goes, mail.domain.com points to the server ip address, because that's the mail server. Your customers should not be upset about that.

Try using wmail.domain.com or webmail.domain.com instead.
