yeah, some files have been deleted during update. some how i fixed them on my server.

goto /usr/lib directory and copy named files.

do one thing. run this command in SSH and let me know what files are missing i will make them available for you just replace those files and you are done.

I don't remember exact file name which I replaced but when I tried to restart bind it gave me some lib. files missing. then I copied those missing files from my other servers backup directory and all things started working fine.

I found that after some time my other server also given same error and bind started working fine. I have stopped automatic update on my all servers because I think this problem raised due to cpanel automatic update.

i will post these files on my web site so you guys who don't have these files put them on your system and bind should start working. hang on and give me 10 minutes. ...
    - mahinder

edit: hey i am not sure about the files names. Just type /etc/init.d/named restart and let me know the file names missing and i will provide them for you.

    --------------------------

    Download above missing files from

    http://www.mahinder.com/missing.tar

    STOP

take backup of your lib directory or all above files so if you mess up something you can restore them

    goto /usr/lib directory and type

    tar -zcvf lib_backup.tar *

this will create backup of all your lib directory and subdirectories

NOW extract missing.tar to your /usr/lib

directory and untar the files like this

    tar -xvf missing.tar

this will extract all files listed above in your /usr/lib directory

then restart the bind with this command

    /etc/init.d/named restart

    now bind should work.

This is what I did on my servers and named (Bind) started working fine. If you do not get lib. files missing error then do not follow this procedure.

    Have a Nice Day,
    - Mahinder Dangwani.
    - cphosting.com.

    EDIT:
NOTE: please backup your files if tar try to overwrite the files. DO NOT MAKE ME RESPONSIBLE IF SOMETHING goes wrong after you followed above procedure or overwriten your files.

It appears to be the result of a redhat update. However so far every 7.1 machine I've tested has been fine. Which versions of redhat are experiencing the problem?

Running /scripts/rpmup may fix the problem as it will cause any updates that had problems to be reinstalled
